Frequently Asked Questions

  1. When can I file my tax return(s) with the IRS?

The IRS has delayed filing dates due to last minute tax law changes made by Congress to avoid the Fiscal Cliff. The first date you can file your Federal return is January 29th.

  1. Do I need to wait until I can file my return with the IRS to have them prepared?

No. You do not need to wait to have your taxes prepared. We can prepare returns NOW! Then we will file your return(s) electronically as soon as the IRS will allow. Having your return(s) prepared early will allow you to avoid the rush at filing time.  However, please ensure that you have ALL tax documents, before your taxes are prepared.

  1. Do I need to wait until I have my W-2(s) before I come in?

Yes, W-2’s are needed in order to prepare your taxes.  You should ensure that you have ALL tax documents before you have your taxes prepared.  Please see our Appointments Page for a complete list of items needed to complete your tax return.

  1. Do I need an appointment or can I walk in?

The choice is yours.  If you would like to sit with one of our accountants, an appointment is recommended.  If you do not need/want an appointment you may stop by and drop off your tax information at any time.  When your taxes are prepared, we will call you to pick them up.  Please refer to our Contact page for an office near you.

  1. How soon can I get my refund?

You can get your refund as soon as the IRS releases the money – usually in 8 to 21 days after they are filed. IRS has said most refunds will be released within 21 days, however they intend to review more returns before releasing funds this year due to identity theft issues they have experienced with false returns in the past few years.

  1. Where is the office located?

We have 4 locations.  Our main office is in East Brookfield, then we have an office in Belchertown, an office in Leicester, and one in Pembroke.  Please refer to our Contacts page for information on how to contact the individual offices.

  1. Do I have to pay when you prepare my return(s)?

Yes, payment is expected at the time the tax preparation is completed. Returns will not be e-filed until payment is received in full.

  1. How do I get my refund money back?

You have two options from which to choose. You can have the funds deposited directly into your bank account or you can receive refund check(s).  If you choose to receive the refund check(s), they will be mailed directly to you.
